I found a fun way to do this. In your journal, or just on a piece of paper, answer this question "Who are you?" Write down whatever comes to mind, without judgement. Put the list away for a day or so. Then, look at the list again. Now, make 2 columns on another sheet of paper; one labeled "my true self" and the other "what others told me I was". Go through your original answers and put them in the appropriate columns. You'll learn a lot about your "true self" and start removing the "labels" and "filters". You can expand upon it and write other things (great in a journal) like "What do I want in my life?", "What things do I like to do that are healthy for me?" All comes down to..... practicing AWARENESS...
