Opinions

"What other people think of me is none of my business. One of the highest places you can get to is being independent of the good opinions of other people."

Why do we get "attached" to the opinions of others?

Thanks for the question KC ...
As children we are constantly told what to do. If we do the "right" thing we are "good". If we do the "wrong" thing we are "bad". Then we go to school where we are told what to wear, what's important, what's not important. Our minds are then programmed such that we can become good employees and not free thinkers. It becomes a deeply engrained conditioned habitual pattern from which we are always looking for someone else to tell us what to do, let us know we're OK, tell us the "right" way to live and confirm to us that we are doing the "right" thing. We are conditioned from a young age to rely on other people and not think for ourselves. To break these conditioned habitual patterns and liberate ourselves from the robotic world of the unconscious requires us to return our attention to our own inner guidance and intuition and follow that - even when flies directly in the face of all the lies we have been conditioned to believe. Our hearts and our intuition know, and our poisoned, conditioned minds will constantly reason that our intuition is wrong. It is only when we follow our inner guidance faithfully that we understand that it is our own mind that is full of sh!t - and it's somebody else's sh!t not our own :)
