Ironic, the "self-concept" becomes "other's concept".....and/or the other way around...

Thanks for your comment Karen ... How do you think it would be if we always let someone else's actions speak only about them and say nothing about us?

My first thought was that it would be "empowering"...then, my thoughts turned to "how does one separate that out?".....awareness?" One could consciously choose to be present and aware in any and all interactions, but the true freedom for me, i just realized, is to "re-frame" interactions from the past, as well...... :)

Tommy, I read that question over and over again, "how do you think it would be if we always let someone else's actions speak only about them and say nothing about us?"...and I had a "breakthru"...I thought about those words and realized i have DEFINED myself by others' behavior towards me....wow...

But we "make" them "ours"....and believe them until we consciously choose otherwise.
